Nanna’s Trifle

Posted on December 2, 2019January 18, 2019 by Stacey

This simple trifle is a recipe from my Nanna, and it features on our Christmas table every year. I make a double batch of my Nanna’s custard to use in it, however you can…

Combining the sweetness of sweet potato and cherry tomatoes with the tangy bite of ham and fetta cheese, these scrolls are a delicious lunch or snack. Like these Pizza Scrolls, the dough is a little soft and sticky, so use plenty of flour to dust your hands and work surface, and using a sheet of…

Nanna’s Custard – An Easy Custard Recipe!

Posted on August 12, 2019August 12, 2019 by Stacey

This easy custard recipe has been handed down through the generations from my Nanna. It is also delicious to eat on it’s…

Silverside Potato Cakes – Leftovers Reinvented

Posted on July 1, 2019June 30, 2019 by Stacey

Instagram post 2189730103131339344_10448065907 November side hustle total - $878.11

Big month! Scored a few decent paying market research sessions, been flat out completing online surveys, received a few free products, plus cashed in empty drink containers for the 10 cent refund and made a Facebook sale.

Getting so close to my $4,000 goal by the end of December.

Oh my goodness, where did October go?!?! It feels like just yesterday that I was posting September's totals, and now here we are 😳

October's #sidehustle total is made up of the usual suspects - online surveys, market research, 10c cash for containers returns, and a FB marketplace sale. Not bad considering we spent 12 days of the month away on holidays! And November is shaping up to be a bumper month already πŸ˜„πŸ˜„πŸ˜„ Find more info over at www.thethriftylife.com.au . #debtfree #debtfreejourney #debtfreecommunity #debtfreecommunityaustralia #ozdebtfreecommunity #thrifty #frugal #frugalmum #frugallife #budget #budgetmum #budgeting #budgetingtips #extraincome #makingmoney
Instagram post 2166780131964407075_10448065907 My goal this year was to make $3,000 in #sidehustle money from online surveys and market research. I hit that goal today, so I'm gonna try for a 'stretch goal' of $4,000 by the end of December. Bring it on!

Instead I mix up 2 cups of greek yoghurt, 1/2 a lebanese cucumber (finely diced) and a pinch of cumin, whenever I need tzatziki for dips, or dolloping on things like sweet corn fritters (today's lunch)!

Instagram post 2120066926399834819_10448065907 Just a little before and after of a small reno we just had completed. We knew when we bought this house last year that our fridge wouldn't fit the tiny fridge space. Luckily the pantry space beside it is huge, so the builder was able to extend the wall into there without affecting the pantry. I'm loving having the fridge in the kitchen! Now to paint the new wall (I hate painting!) πŸ˜‚
The best part of it all? We paid for it all in CASH!!!
Instagram post 2109428711594906163_10448065907 For those that use pie makers, what do you do with the leftover bits of pastry after you've cut out the circles for the lids/bases?

I keep all the leftover bits in the freezer for when I need a quick lunch or dinner. Cut the curved edges off to make a *roughly* square shape, cut out to each corner a little and then press into a muffin tin. Add your fillings of choice, and you've got mini pies or quiches πŸ˜„

Instagram post 2100476625041647409_10448065907 It's been crickets over here...when life gets busy, social media is the first thing I drop!

Side hustle total for July: $271.36 - online surveys
- free products from Bunch and Home Tester Club
- cash for containers refunds

July totals are way down compared to the previous months. I've been too busy working on writing new blog posts, having a small home renovation completed, AND we bought a caravan 😁
Instagram post 2084601797373940311_10448065907 Dishwasher cleaning time! This is the original dishwasher that was in the house when we purchased it last year, it's old, noisy and gets gunk build-up in it constantly. Good old bi-carb and vinegar help to keep it clean on the cheap, while I dream of a new, sleek, whisper-quiet machine πŸ˜‚
Instagram post 2080290317195323961_10448065907 This first of this year's strawberries!
Thanks to my darling husband transplanting some of the hundreds of runners from the 6 plants I grew last year, it looks like we'll be drowning in fresh strawberries for the next few weeks. What a nice problem to have 😁
Instagram post 2079515434840594710_10448065907 It's been a while since my last post, thanks to all the winter germs and sickness we've had here 😷

June's side hustle total - $561.68
- online surveys
- 2 x market research online forums
- cash for containers with our empty cans and bottles
- free products from Bunch and Woolies Rewards

My goal is to hit $2k in extra income just from online surveys, market research and mystery shopping by the end of August...and I'm already at $1,831 😱 😍 #kickinggoals
Instagram post 2066431214685643306_10448065907 Just checking out next week's weather forecast, and the temps are suppose to get cold again (1 degree mornings!!!). I don't like the cold, but I also don't like increasing our electricity bill, so I do lots of little things to keep warm, like layering clothes, and opening the house up to the sun in the morning and then closing it back up at 4pm, all in an effort to keep our electricity bill as low as possible - and it works!
Check out the full post on www.thethriftylife.com.au

Have a lovely weekend everyone 😊
Instagram post 2065701637784968888_10448065907 This week's grocery shop = $164.68. I had a $20 evoucher from completing online surveys, so that bought the cost down further 😊

Markdown meatloaf and milk for the freezer, free rice cups from Woolworths Bunch program, and free Sunbites crackers and chips from Social Soup.

If anyone would like a link to a $5 evoucher from the Social Soup Sunbites campaign, let me know 😁
